Week 7 of my Wellness Journey

You made it back after my hard week last week? Amazing, I’m glad you did because this week was so much better!

Work

This week at work I began to transition out of my current team (where I manage 7 people), and it was really sad to tell everyone! I’ve built this team over the last year and feel really connected to everyone and I’m sad to move away from management. Even though it is sad to move on to a new role I am so excited!

One thing about me is that I am constantly looking to learn and grow. With this new position I will continue to challenge myself ! I am so excited to become a Solution Architect, I think it’s an incredible role and opportunity for me to help bridge the gap between R&D and Customer Success. We’ll see how the transition continues over the new few weeks!

Workouts

I tried a workout with my nutritionist this week on Sunday morning (a functional workout which is a difficult workout with weights and very high paced). It definitely kicked my butt, but after doing workouts for the past two months I enjoyed it!! If you remember from my first blog I wrote I said how much I hate working out and I really feel a shift in how I’m feeling about it.

I’m really excited to start a. workout program for the next 2 weeks (virtual program) with someone who used to live in Israel and kept it alive for us still here. I’ll update on how that goes next week! The program is called “Everyday Wellness”, here we are given workouts, recipes, and night check ins.

Books

This week I started reading, Burnout. This is a book all about women burning out emotionally in all aspects of their life; work, relationships, family, and on. So far, I’ve learned that we have something they call “A Monitor”, this monitor tracks our feelings and pushes us to either continue fighting or give up. It also talks about how this is directly related to our stress cycles, and how important it is to complete your stress cycle.

The authors suggest the main way for most people to complete their stress cycle is to workout, go for a run, or maybe have a nice cry. I have noticed feeling better now that I’m working out so I guess this really does work!!

Weekends

I’ve realized that I have never written about my weekends in any of my posts. I guess weekends for me are a time to breathe, take a break from the workouts but still do what’s best for me. A typical weekend is me waking up at 8 AM and reading for an hour before Eyal joins me on the couch. I get my “weekend workout’ in by going for a long walk and enjoying the outside warm weather here :)

Next week looks like it’ll be pretty crazy. It will really put my morning routine on the weekend to the test! ..Stay tuned…See you then!
